1st sign of action

Yesterday, Andrew & I had our first meeting with our Site Supervisor. We were given our key, went over our brick & roof tile selections and what flooring type will be installed after handover. Wait.... What? We were given a key?  But there's no front door! (thanks for that pearler, Pop)

Yeah, that's right. Coral give all of their owners a key during construction. We can get in and out of the gate that keeps the build secure. We can double check the fine details, make sure they haven't put a door in the wrong spot, etc. We have deliberated for hours where those damn pesky power points are gonna go - we have spent hours upon days, days upon hours, going over the smallest details, so who knows our house better than us, right?

We can jump on those little problems when they first arise, so they don't turn into BIG problems. And let's not kid ourselves - something is likely to happen - doesn't it always?

Anyway, I digress. During our meeting with our SS, we found out that there are 2 DP's for our block - an old one, and a new one. One of the DP's has our block situated 2m to the left, which means that our neighbours house would be on our block. This is the incorrect DP - but unfortunately that is the one the surveyors pegged out to on Friday. *rolls eyes*

The excavator was supposed to come yesterday, but due to a minor hiccup (with the surveyor pegging out to the wrong DP - mentioned above) the excavator should now appear today. Due to this slight hiccup, our temporary driveway supplier was told to delay the delivery by a day. They mustn't have got the message. Yesterday morning during our meeting, we got to witness the first visual sign that something exciting was about to happen on our block (that wasn't our doing).

Yay - a big pile of gravel.
